About

Summit West Ski Patrol, also known as Snoqualmie Pass Volunteer Ski Patrol (SPVSP), is a group of people brought together by their love for the outdoors and for helping others.

Coming from a diverse set of backgrounds and professions, the patrol team at Summit West comes together every winter to provide the guests at the Summit with emergency medical and transportation services.

We strive to keep the mountain safe for all who come to enjoy and experience the fun and excitement that a Pacific Northwest winter has to offer.

Life as a Patroller

Being a patroller is a mentally and physically challenging commitment, but it’s also a very rewarding undertaking.

When you patrol, you are the first people on the mountain and the last ones off. The days can be long, but the benefits from your hard work are numerous. There are a variety of perks and privileges that go with being a patroller.

If you love to ski or snowboard, be outside, spend time with good people, enjoy being on a team, and get satisfaction from helping people, then being a patroller could be right for you.

Summit West is known as the beginner hill at the Pass, but don’t let that fool you. While its rolling slopes are a blast to carve down and are fun for those new to skiing or snowboarding, West is home to some extremely exciting and technical terrain if you know where to look. Go for a ride-along and let the our patrollers show you where the good stuff is.
